Your first Steps
The first step for anyone thinking of taking up golf for recreation or as a sport is to visit your local driving range. There you will be able to hire a driver and a bucket of balls. Be sure to warm up with wind swings before your actual golf swing. Enquire about the availability of a coach. You will soon be able to meet someone that knows more about golf than you. Team up with them and get to play on a real golf course. Many municipal courses will hire you a driver, irons and a putter.
Basic etiquette
While preparing to take a shot ensure that other players are not standing
near or around you. When another player is preparing, stand back and
not do anything that might distract the player. Do not take a shot while
players in front of you are within your range. Keep your golf cart out of others way.
