Travel Reminders
The secret of getting the most out of a holiday, golfing trip or weekend is to plan your trip . Here are a few important reminders. If travelling to another country, make a point of finding information about its local customs, habits and language. If you cannot speak the language, buy a phrase book.
Check that your passport is valid and the expiry date will allow for contingencies. If you must renew or get a new passport , don’t leave the task till the last few weeks before departure. Make sure your credit card/s is also valid. Take your driving licence.
If travelling in hot weather plan to take lightweight clothes, including good head gear to protect you from direct sun on the Golf course. You will need a pair of sunglasses with protection against UV Rays. Take advice from your doctor or Pharmacist about sun blocking cream, jet lag, insect propellant, water purification & tummy bug tablets.
Ensure that the size of your hand luggage bag meets the new air travel regulations. Get correct electrical plug adapters for your lap top, mobile and dryers. The voltage in the US is 110 for example. Visit a reputable electrical shop for advice.
Metal spikes on golf shoes are not allowed in some courses abroad. Have alternative spikes fitted. Most continental golf courses require a handicap certificate, so be sure you have this with you.
